The firm of Montaury Pimenta, Machado & Vieira de Mello is the result of the association of two of the leading Brazilian I.P. firms: Montaury Pimenta, founded in 1939 by Mr. Edgard Montaury Pimenta and Vieira de Mello, founded in 1929 by Mr. Júlio Vieira de Mello.

Both firms share a common background and have for many years played an important role in the Brazilian legal market. For the first 30 years, the firm of Montaury Pimenta was dedicated to Civil and Corporate Law. In 1985 the firm branched out to the Intellectual Property area and has since then developed an expanding portfolio of mainly foreign clients.
