The firm Montaury Pimenta was founded in 1939 by Dr. Edgard Montaury Pimenta and, for almost 30 years, dealt with Civil and Corporate matters.

In 1985, the Firm began to deal with matters relating to Industrial and Intellectual Property. In 1990, it changed its name to Montaury Pimenta, Machado & Lioce.

Ever since its decision to specialize in Industrial and Intellectual Property, there has been growth every year. Many new clients have been found from all over the world, from small inventors to large multinationals, many of which are listed in the international publication Fortune 500.

As well as its team of lawyers, engineers, industrial property agents, paralegals and support staff, based in the Rio de Janeiro headquarters, there is now also a new office in São Paulo, which opened in mid-2006.
