Hiago de Borba Busch is a partner in the Intellectual Property (IP) litigation group, with over 15 years of national and international experience. Licensed to practice law in Brazil and Spain, he has represented clients in complex disputes involving patents, trademarks, industrial designs and other IP rights before courts in Brazil, Spain, and the European Union.
His practice focuses on developing strategies for the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, with extensive litigation experience in the life sciences, medical devices, fashion, energy, agribusiness, and telecommunications sectors.
In addition to advising domestic and international clients on contracts, negotiations and litigation matters related to patents, trademarks, and industrial designs, he also handles matters related to trade secrets, unfair competition and digital law, and domain name recovery arbitration (UDRP and Saci-Adm).
Hiago was appointed as Brazilian representative and intellectual property expert at the Latin America IP SME Helpdesk, an initiative funded by the European Union (EU) Commission aimed at supporting European companies operating or intending to access the Latin American market.
He holds a strong academic background with two LL.Ms, one in business law and the other in intellectual property law, as well as a postgraduate degree in international business. He is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
