A Federação dos Varejistas e Atacadistas do Brás (Fevabrás), entidade que reúne 20 associações e mais de 10 mil lojistas, está desenvolvendo uma série de ações com o objetivo de aprimorar o compliance das empresas associadas e requalificar o comércio da região, o maior polo de comércio popular da América Latina. Com esses objetivos, a entidade está lançando o Selo Fevabrás, em conjunto com a instituição Fibra Ética, com foco no combate à pirataria e reforçar a qualidade dos produtos comercializado.

Desde que as marcas tridimensionais (3D) foram introduzidas no Brasil pela Lei de Propriedade Industrial de 1996, houve relutância pelos depositantes em buscar essa forma de proteção. Na última década, desde que as marcas 3D foram aceitas no Brasil, cerca de 500 pedidos de registros de marcas 3D foram concedidos e, destes, apenas 300 foram concedidos pelo Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial (INPI). Entre as causas deste pequeno quantitativo, podemos citar a exigência de um exame muito restrito e pesado pelo INPI, principalmente sem levar em consideração o mercado em que essas marcas tridimensionais (3D) estão inseridas.
